Save the date and plan to attend the annual Holiday Fair at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church! See the flyer below for some information, We’ll post more details as they becomes available. Our annual Holiday Fair is a great opportunity to do some shopping, visit with friends, and enjoy browsing over our baked goods.

The September issue of the church newsletter, The Link, is shown below. September brings along the beginning of Sunday School on September 7th, and the fall events that are being scheduled. Please note that our annual Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday, November 8th. More details will be forthcoming about our fun event. In the meantime, we would like to invite everyone to come join us on Sunday mornings at 10am as we worship together. Coffee Hour is served most Sunday’s after the worship service and it provides a good time to catch up with our neighbors and friends. Hope you can join us!!

Shown below is the September calendar for the Community Food Bank. The Food Bank is open to any Connecticut resident in need of food support. For additional information, including the hours of both service and donations, please see the notation below the calendar.

Our special visitors on Sunday, August 10th, were the pets who came with their people! Several folks brought their pets to Pastor Barbara to be blessed and share time with everyone in attendance in the Memorial Garden. Perhaps this will become an annual event!

Next Sunday, August 10th, we’ll be holding the worship service outside in and around our Memorial Garden. We’ll be including some special guests…our pets! Pastor Barbara will be blessing the animals that come with their “people”. We request that you bring a lawn chair (or two), and be sure your pets are leashed or caged for the safety of all.

Summer is quickly flying by and as we enjoy these last, hopefully relaxing days, we want to wish you a blessed time with family and friends, and we hope to see everyone in September! If you’ve never joined us before, please come and share space with us as we worship our Lord and Savior together!

On Sunday, August 10th at 10am our worship service will be outside near our Memorial Garden. We’ll also be having a special event to bless our pets that bring so much joy into our lives. You’re invited to join us and we ask that you bring a lawn chair; animals must be leashed or caged for the safety of others.

Shown below is the newsletter for Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. It will tell you about the events happening at our church during July. First off there is the annual Fourth of July parade, hosted by the Lion’s Club of Barkhamsted. This parade has been going strong since at least 1951 (ask one of the original marchers about it!) and our church has had a presence in most all of them. The parade will begin at 10:30 am on July 4th and will march from the Senior & Community Center on West River Road to the Barkhamsted School. Viewing is along the parade route as the road will be closed to traffic during that time.

Another item to put on your summer calendar to remember is Sunday, August 10th when the service will be held outdoors in and around the Memorial Garden. It will be especially fun as Pastor Barbara will be blessing our animal friends! We’ll say more about this next month, but keep us in mind as the summer goes along.

Of course, our regular worship service is at 10:00 am each Sunday and everyone is welcome to join us.

The July calendar for the Community Food Bank is shown below. Please note that during the summer months the food bank will be open on alternate Wednesdays from 4-6pm. Our hope is the garden on the side lawn of the church will have some fresh produce to bring to the food bank!
