Family Movie Night!
For a fun community event, our church will host a Family Movie Night and everyone is welcome to come join in the fun. We’re planning on Saturday, July 14th (rain date the 21st). Come at 7:00 pm, bring a picnic supper to eat on the lawn, and, of course, a lawn chair to be comfy. The movie, yet TBD, will begin at dusk. Once the decision is made on the film to be shown, I’ll update this post. It should be a fun evening and we hope to see you there.

June Calendar for Community Food Bank
The June calendar for the Community Food Bank is shown below. As a reminder, this food bank services residents in New Hartford and Barkhamsted and is located at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. To view the calendar larger, simply click on it.
Dedication of Headstone for Civil War Veteran
The local chapter of the American Legion has been working diligently to research and determine the identity of a Civil War veteran who is buried in an unmarked grave in Riverside Cemetery (located beside the church). On Saturday, June 2nd the group will hold a ceremony to reveal the identity of this soldier, and to share his story and the new headstone placed on his grave. The public is invited to attend.
