This Sunday (5/3) we’ll be having a guest speaker give the message in church…our own District Superintendent, Rev. Kenneth Kieffer. Ken is a gifted speaker and holds his listeners in the palm of his hands as he speaks. I hope you’ll attend this Sunday for a show of support and to hear his message. Our thanks to Ken for coming to fill the pulpit when Pastor Trudy is unable to be with us.

United Methodist Women will host a guest speaker: Wednesday, May 6th
At our regular monthly meeting of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Women, we are pleased to announce that we will host a guest speaker as our program for the evening. Sandee Fleet from the Farmington Valley Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) will talk with us about Food and Medical Myths. It sounds like a really interesting program and we invite any ladies to come join us. So, mark your calendars and plan to attend on Wednesday, May 6th at 7:00 PM. Holy Week Worship Services
As we enter Holy Week, please consider joining us at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church for worship. Here are the events:
- Palm Sunday, March 29th at 9:30 AM
- Maundy Thursday, April 2nd at 7:00 PM
- Good Friday Prayer Vigil, April 3rd from noon to 3:00 PM
- Good Friday Worship Service, April 3rd at 7:00 PM
- Easter Sunrise Service to be held at Barkhamsted Center Church (aka First Congregational Church of Barkhamsted), April 5th at 6:30 AM. A community breakfast will be held immediately following the service at 7:00 AM
- Easter Worship Service at PVUMC at 9:30 AM
2015 Bean Hole Bean Supper dates announced
The 2015 dates for the Bean Hole Bean Suppers have been confirmed. Suppers will take place on:
- Saturday, May 2nd
- Saturday, September 12th
- Saturday, October 17th
Reservations are recommended and will be taken two weeks prior to each supper. Call Cathy at 860-379-9398 to save your place. For more information, including our menu and a brief history of these suppers, please click on the Bean Hole tab at the top of the page.

Spring Music Evening: March 21st
Spring is on the way, or at least we hope so. To get you in the mood to celebrate spring, plan to join us at the Spring Music Evening, on March 21st, 2015, beginning at 7 PM.
