Every day put on The Armor of God

School will be starting for our children in just a few days. Now is the time to provide them not only with new school clothes and supplies, but to arm them with the strength of the Spirit and the sincere knowledge of the Lord’s protection against evil. Help them put on the Armor of God each day and as they go about their activities help them know they are protected by the love of Jesus.

In Ephesians 6: 10-18 says: “10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints”.

Guest Speaker: Sunday, May 31st and June 7th

As Pastor Trudy recovers from surgery, we are truly blessed to have some wonderful guest speakers fill the pulpit for Sunday morning worship.  On both May 31st and June 7th Pastor John Roy will come and share his words of faith with us.  Pastor John is a retired United Methodist pastor, and a member of the Bakerville Methodist Church.  He is a long-time member of the Tres Dias community and also uses his time to assist with “Feed The Need” in Torrington, CT.  On June 7th Pastor John will also provide assistance with the communion service.

Our thanks to all those who have given their time and energy to come and be with us for Sunday services.  It is our sincere hope that Pastor Trudy will soon be in the pulpit again here in Pleasant Valley, but until that time God has provided for our spiritual needs in a wonderful way.

Imagine No Malaria!

GOOD NEWS, MALARIA IS 100% PREVENTABLE

Unlike many other diseases that are awaiting a cure, malaria was eliminated in the U.S. in the 1950s. However, in Sub-Saharan Africa, malaria continues to kill a person every 60 seconds. But there is hope! Imagine No Malaria is part of a global partnership and together with our partners, our generation can beat malaria once and for all.”

This Sunday, May 10th, the youth group of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church is asking for your help in working to wipe out this disease by donating $10 toward the cause. Each gift of $10 will provice 2 full rounds of malaria protection to those in need.

Here’s your chance to help save a life! How powerful that is.
