Shown below is the October calendar for the Community Food Bank, housed at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. Any Connecticut resident who has a need for food assistance may come to this location. For additional information, or to ask about making a donation to the food bank, please call 860-379-0346.

Our church will be hosting a big tag sale on Saturday, September 23rd from 9am to 3pm! It will be rain or shine as the tables will be set up inside and outside the building. Should it rain, everything will be moved indoors. There will be something for everyone so plan to stop in and see what you can find.

September marks the beginning of the church calendar for start up of many activities for the fall. The children will come back for Sunday School on Sunday, September 10th, and the Mary & Martha Women’s Group will host a potluck lunch on that same day, which will replace the regular coffee hour fare. We’ll look forward to another Christmas Fair in early December and the crafters are getting busy preparing their items for sale. When you come to church, please take a moment to notice the new gravel surface in the parking lot. This smooth and compact surface will be much easier to maintain as the winter weather comes along. Soon you’ll see much needed repair work begin on the roof over the sanctuary and repair to the bell tower. Any and all of these activities would welcome your assistance, so please think about volunteering to help wherever you can. As you read over the church newsletter, The Link, shown below, please take note of all the ways in which you might offer your time and talents. Being a good steward of God’s house involves more than just monetary support; your time is a vaulable asset and our church welcomes your donations of time too.

As always, we would love for you to join us in worship on Sunday mornings and/or at any of the activities that will be taking place. God’s house is open to all…and all are welcome!

Where has the time gone!! It’s June already and summer is quickly approaching. Shown below is the June ’23 edition of our church newsletter. As you’ll see, Sunday School is winding down, and activities are gearing up for summer fun! Summer is often the time when our congregation seems smaller as folks head off to vacation and other activities. But please remember that the Lord is with you always. We encourage everyone to keep up with your pledges and tithes as our church bills and commitments continue to need your support. Enjoy your summer and may the peace of the Lord bless you as we glide through this season of plenty!
