There will be a Maundy Thursday worship service at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church tonight at 7pm. All are welcome.

And Jesus said “Do this in remembrance of me”.

Easter week is upon us and tomorrow at the 9:30 am worship service we will be waving the palm branches as we remember Jesus riding on the donkey amid much acclaim from the people. As the week progresses worship services will be held on Maundy Thursday at 7pm in remembrance of the last supper that Jesus shared with his disciples. A 7pm service on Good Friday will remind us of Jesus’ agony and death on the cross. The celebration of the resurrection will take place on Easter Sunday at 9.30am.

On Good Friday, during the hours from noon until 3pm, the church will be open for anyone who wishes to come and spend some time in the Sanctuary. Pastor Trudy will be on-site and the movie “The Passion of the Christ” will be shown during this time. Everyone is welcome to come and meditate on the events that happened so long ago.

An Easter Sunrise service will be held at 6:30am at North Congregational Church in New Hartford with a community breakfast to follow. Everyone is encouraged to join in this special event.

A big thank you to everyone who showed up to help with the spring clean up this morning. The Memorial Garden has been worked on, the fallen tree is in process of removal, and the bean hole pit has been cleaned up ready for our first Supper on April 29th. The windows inside the building sparkle! Many hands make light work.

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that Bob Codd, our pastor’s husband, left this earthly home to live in his heavenly home with our Lord. Bob was a loved member of our church family and although he hasn’t been able to join us in the worship services for many months, he has always been in our hearts and prayers. Please join me in sending your thoughts and prayers to Pastor Trudy and her family as they go through this difficult time. Rest in peace, Bob; you will be missed.

Sunday morning worship services at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church have been cancelled for February 12th due to another snow storm coming in! If you have to be on the roads, please be careful and safe!

Please come join us for the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, hosted by the men of the church. This year it will be held on Tuesday, February 28th beginning at 6 pm. Everyone is invited to enjoy a hearty meal of various types of pancakes, sausage, and real maple syrup! A free-will donation jar will be available should you wish to contribute to the ministries of our church.

On the following day, March 1st, an Ash Wednesday worship service will take place in the Sanctuary at 7pm. Everyone is welcome to join us as we begin the Lenten journey.
